Parkrun

We are thrilled to announce that our amazing staff member, Bev, has just completed her 200th Parkrun! A huge congratulations to her for this incredible achievement—her dedication is truly inspiring.

At The Farmhouse Surgery, we proudly support Parkrun as an official parkrun practice. If you're looking to boost your fitness, enjoy the fresh air, and connect with others, Parkrun is a fantastic opportunity. Regular exercise not only improves physical health but also enhances mental well-being, reduces stress, and increases energy levels.

Plus, spending time outdoors has its own perks—fresh air can boost your mood, improve sleep, and leave you feeling more refreshed and energized.

Parkrun events are completely free and open to everyone, whether you prefer walking, jogging, running, or even volunteering. Running is not required—Parkrun welcomes participants of all abilities. It’s a great way to stay active, socialize, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

Our nearest Parkrun takes place at Bournemouth Parkrun in Kings Park, starting at 9am every Saturday. For more details on how to join, visit the Parkrun website here.

We encourage everyone to get involved and experience the many benefits of Parkrun. See you there!

New Patient Group

We’re excited to introduce our new Patient Participation Group (PPG) and invite you to get involved! This group aims to give our patients a stronger voice in shaping the care and services we provide.

By joining the PPG, you can share your thoughts, offer suggestions, and work with us to positively impact our community. We believe the best way to improve our services is by listening to those who use them, and your input is vital in helping us better meet all our patients’ needs.

We look forward to collaborating with our community through the PPG and ensuring everyone’s voice is heard. Together, we can create a healthcare environment that truly reflects our patients’ needs and values.

The Importance of Early Cancer Detection

Lung cancer is one of the most common and serious cancers, highlighting the importance of early detection. Regular screenings can significantly improve survival rates, especially for those at higher risk, such as smokers. Recognizing symptoms like persistent coughs or breathlessness early on is crucial.

Prioritizing your lung health through regular check-ups can make all the difference—stay vigilant and talk to your doctor about screening options

Farmhouse Little Library

We’re excited to launch the Farmhouse Little Library at our surgery. This initiative promotes reading by offering easy access to books for all ages.

Our library, located in the porch area, features books for early readers to advanced young readers. Kids can borrow books, bring them back, or keep them if they love them. We also welcome donations of children's books, which can be dropped off at our reception.

Come visit, grab a book, and help us foster a love of reading in our community. Happy reading!
