How to Register

Check you live within the boundary area

To access our registration process, first check you are in our catchment area. If you have any questions about your eligibilty join this surgery please contact us.

Temporary Services

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a Doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP Practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local Practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that Practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a Practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Your Named GP

Since April 2015 we have been required by the Government under the terms of the GP contract to allocate all our patients a named accountable GP, also at times known as your registered GP.

If you prefer to see another doctor at the surgery you are entirely free to go on doing so exactly as before and if you wish to change your named GP, please ask. Your named accountable GP will not be available at all times and if your needs are urgent you may need to discuss them with any available doctor as our practice takes responsibility for your care as a whole and our computer clinical system holds your up-to-date medical record that can be viewed by all our doctors and nurses whenever you consult them.

If you are unsure of who is your named doctor please ask. Unfortunately, we are unable to notify patients in writing of any change of GP due to the costs involved.
